The University of Nairobi Law Journal (UNLJ) is a student run and edited scholarly publication. It publishes research papers contributed by law scholars, legal practitioners, students and other players in legal academia.
The University of Nairobi Law Journal was established in 1976 with the specific objective of participating in the discovery, transmission, and preservation of legal knowledge. This is vividly captured in the University of Nairobi Act. The journal is also envisaged as a way of bringing out unexposed and unexploited research interest among students.
Since establishment, the University of Nairobi Law Journal has, in collaboration with the University, published journals, albeit intermittently.Traceable issues include the 1989, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2004 and 2005 journals. Currently, the board is in the process of establishing online publications.
The journals are sold to; inter alia, educational institutions, especially law schools, law firms, the High Court. The editorial board has over the years endeavoured to expand its local and international market.
